Lighting with PAR36 & AR111 BulbsLighting with low voltage PAR 36 and AR111 bulbs utilizes a smaller "point source" filament aligned in an optically efficient reflector. This bulbs use a larger parabloic refector and a capped filament to produce a tightly point beam resulting in center beam intensities up to five times that of MR16's. They are best used for dramatic, high contrast accents and hold their beam over longer throw distances of 30 feet. Because the filament is shielded with a metal cap, Par 36 and AR111 bulbs have a very low brightness. These bulbs reguire a step-down transformer to supply their required 12 volts. Well suited for illuminating larger objects or areas such as fireplaces or wall hangings.
